Crushed had me guessing while my heart was crushing over events that will keep you turning the pages. There is action, betrayal, lust, love, heartache, and then some messed up family issues. As much as I enjoyed the book, there were times I was having to reread paragraphs just to understand what the writer was trying to say. For instance there was a point where the word thought was in a place that should have been threw. Grammar police should not read this because of punctuation was a big problem. Otherwise, it is a good story and will keep the reader on his/her toes wondering what event will be make her choose one best friend over the other. Great love triangle.Product details

If you are the type of person that can't read a story that has A LOT of grammatical errors, this read is not for you. This book is full of them. I thought that the story overall was well written, but all of the errors did make it a bit of a challenge because I had to reread sentences to make sense of what the author was trying to say. Simple things that would have been easily caught had the book been edited which I have a hard time believing it was. There were words missing in sentences and the wrong word or wrong tense was used in the story quite often. Best of luck to the author, but the attention to the details is just as important as the content of the story. If it was me I would yank this book, edit THOROUGHLY and republish because I am being generous with my 3 stars.
I don't normally read romance but this book has me changing my mind! Although there are some grammatical errors and it's in need of some extra details it's a great read that gets your heart pumping when the main characters finally get together. I was swooning over the male lead and the drama had me transfixed. A fabulous first book, can't wait to read more of your work.
This story was full of ups and downs and kept me on the edge of my seat. I was unable to put it down once I started it. Full of drama, love, heartbreak and some great steamy scenes. Look forward to reading more by this author.

I'm so glad that I picked up this book. I was hooked from the first page, I loved how well the characters were developed and how well the story was written. I loved how connected I felt to the characters. I found it very hard to put down and I look forward to reading more books from Shannon Alexander.
I really enjoyed this book. I am a sucker for love triangles and books with lots of angst and this book definitely has it! Emmalyn was a great heroine and I loved both Ryan and Alex. At some points in the book I was rooting for Alex but I had a soft spot for Ryan from the beginning. Lacey and Jason were great characters too. Emmalyn goes through a lot in this book so be prepared for every emotion as you read this book. The book does have some editing issues, as a lot of self published books do, but I was able to overlook these because I really enjoyed the storyline. I am looking forward to reading more from S.B. Alexander.
There were many reasons I gave this book two stars. Mostly because of all the errors with spelling and punctuation. The storyline was really all over the place. I think it could have more potential if the author were to go back and do major editing.
The other issue I had was there were many contradictory statements and the female lead was very wishy washy.
